GlobalSign Personal Sign products issued by various levels of trust from personal certificates to company departments.

Personal Sign 1 - issued immediately, with validation of email address. There will not be performed validation of personal identity or corporate information. Typically used by individuals. The certificate will show the email address as identity.

Certificates can be used for:

• Secure email identity
  Verifying the sender's identity to the recipient of the e-mail and the content of the e-mail is being protected from changes. The reader will be warned by changes in the email.
• Secure email encryption
  E-mail content can be encrypted so the content can only be read by the recipient with their certificate.
• Microsoft Office document signature
  Adding a digital signature to Microsoft Office documents, ensures that the author is properly identified and that the content is not altered before the reader receives the document. The reader will be warned by changes in the document.

• Other programs that support digital signatures
